Welcome to Paurcartambo!
Christmas cups in Paucartambo? What a quirky and weird mix of the comforts of home and the thrill of being in a new town. This place had the best egg sandwiches ever. It was just the flat bread and 2 eggs, but really, the best egg sandwiches ever.
Blue on buildings. I told you.
After a stop for second breakfast, we headed back on the road.
We made it into MANUUUUU!
These are pretty much the only plant pictures I have. Why did I take so few pictures of plants...?
Listening to Icky Thump by the White Stripes as we were driving down to the rainforest was EPIC.
Narrow roads... Ross' face says it all.
Our first look at the Amazon Rainforest!
This is what happens when biology students spot a bird in the trees. The whole bus goes wild.
It got dark fast, and it hit us that we were basically 10 hours away from any major city.
We arrived in Atalaya after dark. Once we unloaded both vans and set up tents, we gathered in a little restaurant for dinner. The weather was hot and humid. We were tired and dripping with sweat. The only light source you had outside buildings was your headlight. You could hear the jungle and the river. We definitely weren't in Cusco anymore.
He had no idea.
