If it wasn't clear from the pictures, I was obsessed with the puppy and Indian Summer's entire collection, especially the red clutch with the black/white/grey combinations. Behind the scene stuff is almost always more fun than the actual show. Overall, a good time, good message, and cute clothes. What more could you ask for?

39. Crop

This was one of the pictures I took from the show. I was trying to get a shot of people writing on the board, but no angle at eye level was working. The last option was to raise the camera as high as I could over my head, aim, and hope. This is what I got.

Notice the happy photographer and reporter in top center.

Photobucket

I had already selected another picture that was going to run with the story, but I guess some people changed their minds on that picture and chose this one instead. We aren't suppose to run pictures with reporters in it so this happened...

Photobucket

HAH. I guess sometimes the picture with the least planning and the most luck just works? I don't even know.

37. UWFW?

I won't be able to post legitimate pictures for the next two days because I'm using the 5D again to do two big shoots. The Everybody Every Body Fashion Show tonight and a benefit concert tomorrow!

I'm totally going to pretend that I'm the Sartorialist for tonight's fashion show. When it comes to street/fashion photography, he is one of my main inspirations. It might not be NYFW (New York Fashion Week), but no one is going to stop me from thinking that it's UWFW.

goes a long way.

It turned out to be a pretty nice day. I'm glad I got to enjoy it, even if it was just for a few minutes.

35. Portrait

Photobucket

A portrait has so much more meaning when you get to know who you are photographing. I picked up this assignment without knowing much about the story, so as a safety net, I had a plan in my head of how I thought the interview and photoshoot was supposed to happen.

And like always, nothing happens as expected. Haha. It was a good turn of events this time though, and I learned a lot.

These two are volunteers from Stand With Us, an international organization that aims to inform the community about the disparities between how the world perceives Israel and what is actually going on inside. It was humbling to hear about their combat and volunteer experiences and stories about lost loved ones. Today was one of those days where I realized how privileged I am to get a chance to talk to people like this through my job, and getting to share what I see with everyone else.

This portrait turned out alright. Could be better. I took some other shots that are closer up, but I kinda like this one because of the space around them. I think it's time I gather a bunch of my friends and make them be my models for an hour or two while I practice shooting portraits. So if you're reading this, friends, I suggest you prepare yourselves :D .

34. Comfort Colors

Here come the second round of midterms. With two papers due this week and an 8:30 chem midterm on tuesday, I am making my study experience as pleasant as possible.

Photobucket
Can't go wrong with a mocha and BLT (with avocado and cream cheese. yum. And the bread they have here is delicious)

Photobucket
I finally figured out why I love this cafe...the walls are orange! Just like in the newsroom! It's not exactly the same shade, but this will do juuust fine.

Photobucket

Comfort food + comfort colors = papers write themselves and A+ on midterm? Duh.

32. Panoranorama

Photobucket

Thanks to my friend Daniel for showing me how to do these! I never knew they were that simple. Sort of just winged it without a tripod, but I'm pretty happy about how these panoramas turned out.

31. Lincoln Park

Blehhh. I went to an environmental career fair today and was reminded of the fact that the whole point of going to school was to find a job, and that I am competing with thousands of other students for a limited number of positions. Overwhelmed to the max. So naturally, I was in no mood to take pictures.

Here are some shots of the beach I volunteered at this weekend. No, the music group wasn't there.

Fixed lenses are weird. Especially the macro ones.

Photos shot with friend's Canon something something. Don't remember.

30. Daily Date!

Photobucket
I found this rose hanging out at a Daily stand. I'd like to think the person it was meant for came to pick it up. Would have been a pity if it went to waste.

Go Christine Gregoire! Go Washington state!

28.

I was charging my camera battery last night and forgot to put it back in my camera before I left the house this morning. Fail. It felt weird today walking around campus without a camera, since for the past month, I have had it with me every single day. I missed the flash mob in red square. Hundreds of people were there too. I hope I didn't miss anything else.

The photo-a-day project has been going on for about a month, and I am amazed that I have been able to keep it up. There have been some rough patches, hopefully they weren't too obvious, but when you force yourself to upload a picture daily, you are already that much more creative and aware. You starting looking at things differently. You start seeing things... I might just be going crazy.

Photobucket
Don't look at me like that.

So how long is this project going to go for? I have already surpassed my expectations, but setting a goal is a little daunting. Nothing like a good challenge though. I suppose until further notice, this thing will continue, and I promise not to forget the battery next time.

27. NOOK

It's my first food review for The Daily! The place we went today was a little gem situated at the sketchy end of the Ave. Definitely worth the long walk. Nook specializes in biscuits and gravy, and after taking a spoonful of the recommended biscuit and gravy topped with mushrooms, I knew I had stepped into a whole new world. Yup, before today, I had no idea biscuits and gravy existed.

Photobucket
Nook is located at the corner of University Way and 50th.

Plants inside mason jars were hung from the ceiling, a nice little touch along with the calming turquoise walls that made the whole place feel cozy.

Photobucket
The biscuit and gravy topped with mushrooms. It was delicious.

Photobucket
The egg sandwich, also delicious.
